MultiFleXLLachenmeier, part of SIG and a manufacturer of stretch hood equipment and film, has released its new Lachenmeier Multi FleXL stretch hood machine, designed to effectively secure and maintain the integrity of tall and wide pallet loads throughout the supply chain. The machine wraps loads from 500 x 500 mm and up to 3200 length x 1700 width mm, with a maximum height of 3000 mm. It can be configured with up to four different film sizes and be set up to automatically switch between sizes to provide enhanced flexibility and a perfect fit for every load. Wrapping up to 150 loads an hour, depending on the size and height of the product, Multi FleXL further provides fast and accurate results.

SUN Automation Group, an equipment provider to the corrugated industry, has announced its partnership with Japanese company Asahi Machinery, Ltd. As part of the agreement, SUN will market Asahi’s platen die cutters and provide parts and service for existing machinery, further developing its solutions portfolio and growing the Asahi brand in North and South America.

The Pineville, North Carolina Caraustar team with the HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press

Caraustar Industries has installed an HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press in its Pineville, North Carolina facility. The company is using the press to digitally produce folding cartons with faster speed to market, variable data for mass customization, and reduced waste and obsolescence.


Kadant Johnson Inc., a subsidiary of Kadant Inc., announced it successfully started up its ThermoMax steam system at Norampac’s corrugated packaging plant in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada. The new corrugator line was part of a $26 million modernization project that doubled the production capacity of the plant. The corrugator has a face-width of 110” and is designed to operate at sustained speeds of 450 mpm. It is the first of its kind in Canada.


C&M Conveyor, Inc. has launched a redesigned, mobile-friendly website at www.cmconveyor.com. The site offers comprehensive information about the material handling solutions the company provides to the corrugated box industry. The website, which is fully searchable, offers a complete product catalog including videos of the company’s machinery under live operating conditions. Other key features include a replacement parts catalog, interactive sales map linked to regional territories, a careers page with current openings and a corporate blog.


aniloxAn ever-growing customer base and an increasing demand for quality anilox rolls have led Pamarco to invest in the latest in laser technology for its Atlanta, Georgia anilox facility. This installation, along with an expansion in upstream processes, will take place during the second quarter of 2016. With this addition, the Flexo division will have increased capacity to continue meeting the needs of its customers.

The International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF) has announced that Jeff and Janice Chalovich (WestRock) will serve as honorary Co-Chairs of the 2016 ICPF Holiday Weekend in New York fundraiser, December 9 –11, 2016.


Harris & Bruno International announced they will demonstrate three ExcelCoat coaters, a web coater, and various chamber systems in OEM presses at Drupa May 31–June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Separately, Apex International will be presenting several concept launches at the same event in the areas of flexo; coating, offset, primer/digital printing; and inks.

In addition, Electronics For Imaging, Inc. announced that its Midmarket Print Suite, version 4.0, is making its European debut at Drupa 2016 . The updated Productivity Suite, with EFI Pace as the core MIS and a rich collection of print specific components, delivers certified, end-to-end business and production workflows, making it faster and easier for printing companies to evolve to a streamlined, highly efficient mode of operation while enabling new sources of revenue.
