MHIA Drives the Future of Corrugated Through Innovation and Expertise
The corrugated industry continues to evolve in response to growing demands for automation, precision, and operational efficiency. As production environments modernize, manufacturers are seeking partners who offer not only reliable equipment but also strategic insight and long-term support. Best known for the EVOL flexo folder gluer—renowned worldwide for its speed and reliability—MHIA is expanding its role across the entire production line. Recent innovations reflect a deeper commitment to total performance, meeting today’s demands while preparing customers for what’s next.New President and Sales Leadership
Last spring, MHIA announced the appointment of Daisuke Oda as President of MHIA CMD, who brings extensive experience from MHI’s Service Division in Mihara, Japan. Oda succeeds Hiroyuki Kikumoto, whose leadership fostered steady growth and strengthened industry partnerships. Building on that foundation, Oda will focus on advancing innovation, enhancing cross-functional collaboration, and elevating customer value across North America. Joining him is Masato Yoshida, newly appointed Senior Vice President of Sales, from MHI’s Sales Division in Mihara. With deep expertise in strategic account development and a customer-first approach, Yoshida embodies MHIA’s mission of innovation, collaboration, and long-term value for North American boxmakers.Expanding Corrugator Capabilities with 60N and CAP
MHIA has introduced the 60N Single Facer, an advanced addition to the corrugator lineup. Engineered for durability, speed, and accuracy, the 60N reflects a broader commitment to delivering complete, integrated solutions for boxmakers. Supporting this initiative is the Corrugator Audit Program (CAP), a value-added service platform offering machine evaluations, line audits, and system upgrade planning. CAP helps box plants optimize performance, extend equipment lifespan, and prepare for future capacity needs. Together, the 60N and CAP represent a strategic advancement in corrugator performance, combining robust engineering with smart, data-driven service support.Preparing for 2026: MPF WII Installation
In 2026, MHIA will install the first MPF WII in North America. As the largest prefeeder in the portfolio, it’s designed to complement high-speed converting lines, and is especially aligned with the performance requirements of the EVOL. A reliable prefeeder plays a critical role in maintaining line efficiency, and the MPF WII introduces new capabilities that elevate throughput, reduce handling disruptions, and enhance box quality. This installation reflects the continued development of equipment solutions that prioritize productivity, integration, and long-term reliability within the modern corrugated plant.Strengthening Industry Connections Across North America
MHIA remains a passionate supporter of AICC, engaging with member companies and participating in key international events. This past October, the MHIA team attended the AICC Fall Meeting in Chicago, and the AICC Canada meeting, reinforcing relationships with partners and customers, and staying closely connected to industry dialogue in other regions. By actively participating in these discussions, MHIA gains deeper insight into regional needs, allowing for more informed product development and service alignment.Honoring Industry Leadership
At the close of Q1 2026, John Bacot will retire after ten years of dedicated service as Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast Region at MHIA. Bacot has also played an active role within AICC, where he served in several capacities. His commitment to knowledge sharing and workforce development has left a lasting impact on the broader packaging community. Bacot has been working closely with Jon Rhoades, who will succeed him in leading sales efforts in the Northeast and Canada Regions.Looking Ahead
Customer growth has always been and will continue to be the measure of success at MHIA. As the corrugated industry continues to prioritize integrated systems, predictive maintenance, and performance transparency, MHIA remains focused on delivering purposeful innovation. From converting to corrugating, new product installations to performance audits, every initiative is designed to help boxmakers achieve measurable gains across their operations. Through continued investment in product development, service platforms, and industry partnerships, the company remains well-positioned to support corrugated manufacturers in the years ahead.
