Investments in growth, expanding jumbo anilox capacity

I would like to thank our converter and OEM customers for another excellent year of anilox sales to the corrugated industry.

Since the early 2020s, we have seen a significant increase in the demand for new and re-engraved jumbo anilox rolls. To ensure Pamarco remains at the forefront of this market, we recently invested in a state-of-the-art 5.5M laser engraving system. This investment doubles our capacity at our Atlanta Center of Excellence for OEM and corrugated anilox. Today, our Atlanta facility serves the market with two jumbo lasers capable of handling roll sizes up to 220 inches. These new lasers, along with the exceptional expertise of our Atlanta team, enable us to meet the jumbo requirements of the corrugated industry.

In addition to the lasers, we’ve increased the capacity of our upstream equipment and added skilled power to our Roll Preparation Department. Here, we can replace journals, repair bearing surfaces, and restore the outside diameter to OEM specifications. Our use of AST (sub-arc welding) buildup creates a permanent repair for rolls over 20 years old or damaged on tahe press.

From a size perspective, we can now machine, coat, grind, polish, and engrave rolls up to 220 inches in face length and 20 inches in outside diameter. Due to the rolls’ heavy-walled construction, we’ve increased the weight capacity to 3 tons in all facility areas.

Our manufacturing facility in Walton, KY, produces cylinders for most applications using state-of-the-art four-axis CNC machines with live tooling. Having a spare cylinder on hand can enhance equipment productivity and efficiency for customers with jumbo machines.
