SUN Automation Group caps off 2024 with new technologies and partnerships
The corrugated industry saw significant progress and technological advancement throughout 2024, with companies embracing new solutions to meet evolving market demands. SUN625 HD Sets New Standards for Rotary Die Cutting
In 2024, SUN bolstered its product line by releasing the SUN625 HD, the heavy-duty evolution of its flagship rotary die cutter. With five installations across the United States in 2024 and 10 purchases of this model over the last 18 months, the SUN625 HD features several structural enhancements, including a doubled DC journal bearing size and a larger anvil cylinder, offering unmatched durability, reliability, and operation.
SUN625 HD boasts a 500% improvement in fatigue resistance and a 60% reduction in deflection under load, enabling high-speed performance even under the most demanding production conditions.
Applicable on all relevant SUN equipment, the SUN625 HD comes standard with Helios, SUN’s cutting-edge IIoT solution. By delivering real-time insights and proactive maintenance solutions, Helios works to eliminate unplanned downtime, saving box plants hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
SUN Expands Capabilities through Global Partnerships
SUN continued to expand its portfolio through strategic partnerships, welcoming Versor Engineering just months ago. Designed and manufactured in Poland, Versor’s specialty folder-gluers and tape applicators have seen over 300 successful installations across Europe. The exclusive agreement makes SUN the representative for all Versor equipment in the United States and Canada.
Since 2019, SUN has also partnered with Latitude Machinery Corp (LMC) as its exclusive representative in North and Central America. LMC is a world-class manufacturer of rotary die cutters, flexo folder-gluers, and other solutions for the corrugated industry. LMC has earned an excellent reputation, with over 100 installations of LMC equipment across North America.
Filling the gap for end-to-end material handling needs, SUN also serves as the exclusive representative for PARA Machinery’s material handling systems across North America, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. PARA’s portfolio, with over 15,000 products installed worldwide, includes pre-feeders, palletizers, RDC stackers, bundle breakers, pallet inserters, vertical storage solutions, automatic corrugated roll delivery, and unit conveyor systems.
Al-Gar, SUN’s partner since 2023, is a Spain-based company providing expertise and resources to optimize corrugated manufacturing processes with the introduction of their new automatic load tag inserter.
As the OEM supplier for all Langston Machinery equipment, SUN also supports its customers through quarterly preventive maintenance and 24/7 service.
