“The Association for PRINT Technologies (APTech) launched its new publication, EDgage, which will be published quarterly and highlight solutions and innovations in print that provide to help higher-education marketers reach prospective students.

“We’re excited about this highly focused periodical to support higher education marketers,” said APTech President Thayer Long. “It is our goal as an association to deliver solutions that will drive success—and we believe EDgage will do just that.”

Koenig & Bauer was awarded the Company to Watch award at the 2019 Digital Packaging Summit in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

“The Digital Packaging Summit is an extremely unique opportunity to present our company’s digital vision and provides the opportunity for personal roundtable discussions on the future direction of our industry,” said Eric Frank, senior vice president of marketing and product management at Koenig & Bauer. “We are very proud to receive this coveted award.”

The Digital Packaging Summit is a three-day invitation-only event that, in 2019, played host to 95 printing and packaging executives.

In other Koenig & Bauer news, the company promoted Preston Neetzel to director of flexo sales, providing expertise to the company’s CI flexo team in the United States and Canada.

“Since joining Koenig & Bauer in April of 2018, Preston has proven to be a significant asset to our organization and valued resource to our customers,” said Jeff Dietz, the company’s vice president of the web and specialty division. “His years of experience in plant management and consulting have translated seamlessly over to a commercial role, providing our customers with a wealth of industry knowledge.”

In even more news from Koenig & Bauer, Carlson Print Group held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to introduce its new Koenig & Bauer Rapida 105 PRO high-speed six-color press. The event, which was kicked off by an address by Frank, provided the Carlson Print Group sales and production teams and office staff with an opportunity to learn about the new press and its capabilities.

Finally, Koenig & Bauer Flexotecnica launched its new Evo XC Company CI Flexo Press, which is built for short and medium-sized print runs.

“This press represents state-of-the-art technology for newcomers as well as experienced printers who want to enter the CI flexo market in a budget-friendly way,” said Neetzel.


MacDermid Graphics Solutions launched LUX ITP™ EDGE, an in-the-plate flat-top dot solution for post-print corrugated, touting reduction in fluting without having to use additional platemaking techniques or exposure systems.

“LUX ITP EDGE is a culmination of multiple innovations from MacDermid with LUX ITP flat-top dots, anti-fluting technology, and our patented clean plate technology,” said Dan Fry, MacDermid’s corrugated portfolio manager. “This new plate meets a need of today’s market to produce high-quality graphics for retail-ready packaging.”


C&M Conveyor and Ohio Blow Pipe have implemented several management changes.

First, Ed Fakeris has moved into an advisory position within Ohio Blow Pipe after 32 years of leadership at the company.

Second, Randy Grube has moved into the new chief commercial officer role for both C&M Conveyor and Ohio Blow Pipe.

Third, Mike Connell has taken on the sales and marketing manager role at Ohio Blow Pipe.

Finally, Cagney Clark will serve as the new sales manager for C&M Conveyor.”
