Vanguard’s new facility features demo room’s such as the one pictured here.

Vanguard Digital Printing Systems, a Durst Group Co., opened a demo facility in Las Vegas.

The 25,000-square-foot facility serves as a demo center and a West Coast operations point for Chroma Imaging, a longtime Vanguard supporter and user, according to a company news release. The center holds three of Chroma’s seven Vanguard printers: a WRK3200-HS roll-to-roll printer, a VKH900-HS hybrid printer, and a VK300D-HS flatbed printer.

“We have quite a few clients in Las Vegas and a lot of potential clients that have asked us to cover more of the West Coast area,” said Felix Wijaya, CEO of Chroma Imaging. “Las Vegas is the best place for trade show graphics, which is our primary business, so expansion made sense. Partnering with Vanguard on this also made sense.”

“Chroma and Vanguard have long and rich partnership. In eight years, they’ve invested in Vanguard multiple times for their two east coast facilities,” said Jim Peterson, chief operating officer and founding partner of Vanguard Digital. “When Felix was looking to open a full production shop in Las Vegas and add more Vanguard printers to his arsenal, a partnership to have a western region demo center came up. We quickly moved on this opportunity and are both thrilled to represent Vanguard in their Las Vegas Production Shop.”

“The addition of this machine is part of our dedication to continual growth,” said Packrite CEO Michael Drummond. “The requirement for windowed and lined cartons continues to grow. The capabilities of the WP 1400 MASTER will allow us to meet this requirement, as well as improve our efficiency and enhance the value-added capabilities we offer our customers.”

The new MPF-MII pre-feeder from MHIA.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Americas’ (MHIA) corrugating machinery division released North America’s first MPF-MII pre-feeder.

According to an MHIA news release, “the MPF-MII achieves stable stacking, feeding, and first bundling through a series of engineered features, including a middle hopper, swing conveyor, and independent drive ejection belt. Capable of handling both single-wall and double-wall sheets, the pre-feeder also boasts a lifting device that reverses sheet stacks.”

“Our customers rely on us for solutions that directly address production challenges, and the MPF-MII does exactly that,” said Christine Little, director of sales for MHIA’s corrugating machinery division. “MHIA’s research shows that nearly half of equipment downtime stems from issues with ancillary equipment, with older pre-feeders contributing significantly to these interruptions. By introducing the MPF-MII, we’re providing a highly reliable, next-generation pre-feeder that minimizes downtime, empowering our customers to run continuous, efficient operations and maximize output.”
