RISI Fast Markets Reports Smurfit Westrock Has Announced Another Price Increase for Its Containerbo

RISI Fast Markets reports SmurfitWestrock has announced anotherprice increase for its containerboardthis week for customers in the USand Canada. The latest increase is effective June 1 and is for $50 per ton. Previously, Smurfit Westrockincreased $70 per ton which took effect on March 1. The June 1 priceincrease excludes SW white top or coated white top linerboard.
RISI cited a letter dated Tuesday April 28 to customers. SmurfitWestrock said: “To continue providing you with reliable products and consistent service amid evolving market conditions, SmurfitWestrock will be implementing a price increase of $50 per short ton on kraft and recycled linerboard and medium products manufactured in the US andCanada.”
Overall, North American open market linerboard prices declined by $20 per ton in February this year before rising by $40 per ton inMarch and then $30 per ton in April.
