Efficiency meets innovation: High-performance adhesive solutions and service
C&D Corrugating & Paper is a brand of the Crespel & Deiters Group, headquartered in Ibbenbüren, Germany, since 1858. Over six generations, the family business has grown into an international producer of functional wheat ingredients that add value for industrial customers and their end products. Today, with around 440 employees processing 295,000 tons of wheat flour each year, the Crespel & Deiters Group is one of the market leaders in Europe. Boasting more than 30 years of expertise in holistic solutions and service support for the corrugated board industry, the brand develops sustainable, high-performance adhesives that help reduce waste and energy consumption and increase productivity.
Achieve more with less
Process engineered wheat starches bring a multitude of benefits to industrial adhesives. The product chemistry optimizes water holding capacity which facilitates complete gelatinization, further enhancing the bond performance of the adhesive. Compared with other raw materials such as corn starch, the bonding process requires less energy, resulting in reduced paper temperatures and reduced glue application along with significantly higher line speeds. Additionally, thanks to a short texture the glue can be placed easily and precisely on the medium. These attributes combine to produce corrugated board that is more stable with less moisture movement over time and consequently less warp with downstream benefits. Reduced heat and moisture lower stress on papers, resulting in an enhanced surface for printing which further improves the quality and performance of corrugated packaging delivered to the end user.
Creating added value for industrial customers
Continuous R&D and unrivaled expertise separating and refining wheat make C&D Corrugating & Paper not just a starch supplier but also a problem-solver thanks to its customized innovative solutions. Take the Definol range, for example. This all-in-one adhesive solution already includes additives and is therefore ready to use once mixed with water. Caustic Soda and Borax are not required. While the adhesive represents less than two percent of the cost of manufacturing corrugated board, it has a significant impact on the production process and end-product quality. Investment in this technology adds value with an improved bottom line for the corrugated plant.

Holistic service
The corrugated board industry is as diverse and individual as its end products. That’s why it is not enough to simply replace adhesive to make processes more sustainable. In order to achieve the best possible result, from adhesive choices to the setting of systems and training of employees, the entire process must be viewed holistically. Therefore, C&D Corrugating & Paper shares its expertise with clients and provides comprehensive service and consultation. The company offers technical support during the introduction phase, training programs, service visits, and follow-ups once operational—and all at short notice through local representatives!
Step into the future
The Crespel & Deiters Group is continuously investing in modernization, R&D and international growth. The company’s vision is to be one of the leading global manufacturers of wheat-based solutions that empower customers to deliver top-quality products in a sustainable manner. To achieve more with less is a necessity for the creation of a fully circular economy for current and future generations.
