For a company that focuses on relationships, 2021 was a welcomed shift back to Haire’s roots. The Haire team has been able to rack up frequent flyer miles once again visiting clients throughout North America.
“Being out among people and getting to work with them hand-in-hand really feels like home for us,” said Jeff Quinn, VP and General Manager of Haire Group. “We were certainly blessed with great technology to take care of our clients during the pandemic, and it will continue to serve us well, but nothing replaces good-old, in-person interaction.”
UP-TICK IN SALES
As the corrugated market soars, Haire’s sales mirror that trajectory. In fact, Haire is proud to announce its 150th APSTAR installation—a noteworthy accomplishment.
Haire’s Executive VP of Sales, Keith Umlauf, stated, “Our sales team works hard to make the sale, but that’s only the beginning. Our strength lies in the long-term relationships we build with each and every client throughout the duration of ownership of one of our machines. That sales number is important because it represents the trust and value placed in the machines we sell.”
It’s a small world. We have all heard the saying. However, nothing brings that phrase to life like SuperCorrExpo, and this year was no exception. This stellar event brings together a global market as no other trade show could. After missing last year due to the pandemic, Haire embraced the chance to see friends, colleagues, and customers from across the globe. Though this year’s SuperCorr was a bit smaller than normal due to Covid adaptations, Haire Group had the most successful show in their tenure at SuperCorr.
NEW MACHINERY LAUNCH
Another high of 2021 was Haire Group’s unveiling of its new machine offering, the sleek and sophisticated Encore 618 and Encore 1628. Italian innovation and design combine with rugged manufacturing to birth a machine that takes printing and box assembly to the next level. Doubling production speeds is a reality with the Encore’s set-up-while-run feature. More versatility and less down-time generate higher profits and greater customer satisfaction for our clients.
When asked about the new Encore line, Quinn said, “We are a real triple-threat now. Between the best-in-class APSTAR, the innovative Encore, and the best team in the industry—we have a recipe for success, not only for Haire Group but more importantly for our customers.”
THE HALL OF FAME
To cap off his illustrious career, Haire Group’s Doug Muller was inducted into the AICC Hall of Fame during SuperCorr. Th is honor is well-deserved for this titan in the industry. Along with company founder Tom Haire, Doug created the Haire culture that has created the long-term success the company enjoys still today. His passion for the industry is bested only by his love of people—customers, colleagues, vendors, friends, and employees.
Quinn shared, “Th roughout his notable 40 plus year career, Doug made a tremendous mark on our industry and created a legacy worth celebrating. He, quite frankly, helped shape the industry we are fond of today. There isn’t a more worthy recipient of this award than my mentor and friend, Doug Muller.”
“Every year upstages the one before it,” Umlauf shared. “We keep wondering how the next year can possibly be better than the last, but we know it will be. In the face of a changing world, one thing is certain, Haire Group will adapt and flourish as we have always done. We are looking forward to what promises to be an exciting 2022.”

JEFF QUINN, VP AND GENERAL MANAGER
Jeﬀ has been with Haire Group for more than 30 years. He has been invaluable in his role of shaping the company’s infrastructure to accommodate the additional DFA support personnel, both in the oﬃce and in the fi eld. In addition, Jeﬀ is a longtime member of AICC and TAPPI. He recently took the post as the new Chair for the Corrugated Packaging Council (CPC) TAPPI Board. “In the world we live in today, communication technology is always changing, so our challenge is to keep everyone at our company in clear communication with customers. Whether involving oﬃce personnel or DFA techs in the fi eld, we want clear and consistent interaction using the latest devices.” Jeﬀ is also an avid golfer and remains active in leadership roles at his church.
