Pamarco held its third annual Printing for a Better Future event, which benefits a number of at-risk kids in Kosovo. Donations of bedding, toys, and many other items were collected throughout the year to benefit youths across the globe.

Separately, Pamarco announced the appointment of Theodore (Ted) Gallagher as the gravure technical sales engineer for their Armotek Gravure Division. The company has also appointed David Parr to the position of sales manager in its European facility.

Harris Packaging Corp., in partnership with The River Legacy Foundation—a local charity—held a fundraiser in the form of a cardboard boat race. Entries included an eight-man crewed pontoon boat named Old Timer, a boat in the shape of Thor’s hammer, and a boat shaped like a giant pink donut.


Progress Container & Display has become a new ICPF corporate partner by pledging $50,000 to support the foundation’s educational mission.

Almost five years ago we recruited a new University of Florida packaging engineer graduate through ICPF, and Katherine continues to be a rising star, says Jim Johnson, Jr., president of Progress Container & Display, in making the pledge. We plan to continue using ICPF’s successful career portal in the future and are pleased to become a corporate partner in support of ICPF’s work with colleges and universities across the country.

Speaking of ICPF, Jim Haglund (Central Packaging & Display) was inducted as the 23rd member of the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation’s Circle of Distinguished Leaders at SuperCorrExpo® 2016.

At SuperCorrExpo® 2016, SUN Automation Group showcased several new and innovative technologies, including the Asahi Platen Die Cutter, the SUN110 Rotary Die Cutter, and the CorrStream Digital Printer. In addition, SUN has partnered with CleanPrint Chemicals announced it will relocate to a larger facility in Glen Arm, MD. SUN has also hired Robert Casella as Capital and international projects manager and will sponsor the 2017 Print UV Conference held in Las Vegas from March 29–31, 2017.

 

Also at SuperCorrExpo®, Lachenmeier showcased its Multi FleXL stretch hood machine and film solutions. Electronics for Imaging (EFI) showed off its corrugated packaging suite, the EFI VUTEk HS 125 PRO industrial inkjet press, and its EFO Nozomi C18000 inkjet press. JB Machinery also took the opportunity to introduce their ColorDry XL3000 IR drying system, InKomand (an ink temperature control system), KleenPlate 2.0, and KomandCenter (a system which brings all of the JB controls together in a single UI).

Menasha was recently recognized with 16 Design of the Times awards by the Path to Purchase Institute. The awards recognize the most effective and innovative in-store activations, retail displays, and marketing campaigns throughout the year.

In addition, Menasha Director of Marketing Jill Andersen has been named to the 2016 class of Women of Excellence by Path to Purchase Institute.

Dicar, Inc. announced the addition of Christopher Abby as Southwest Region Technical Sales and Service Representative. In his new position, Abby will provide sales and technical support for Dicar customers in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

Dicar also announced Doug Stewart, Dicar technical sales and service representative is the first recipient of the Paul “The Onion” Zeese Sales Award. The annual award recognizes a Dicar Technical Sales and Service representative that demonstrates and embraces excellence in customer service through quick and focused response, and dedication to maximize productivity, efficiency and quality through training and educating customers on best practices in diecutting and production.


HP Inc. announced that Bemis Company, Inc., one of the world’s suppliers of packaging for food, consumer and industrial products, has installed an HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press in order to support the evolving needs of their customers and drive continued innovation with digital print capabilities.

Additionally, HP also announced Great Northern Corporation (GNC), one of the largest independent producers of corrugated packaging, folding cartons and in-store displays in the United States, has purchased the HP PageWide T400S Press.
