Launch of New Mitsubishi Prefeeder and More Than 200 EVOL Sales Reached in North America

Milestone Events for Corrugated Machinery Division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America

The Corrugating Machinery Division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America is on a roll. The company recently launched in North America its highly anticipated Mitsubishi Prefeeder and reached a landmark of more than 200 sales of its industry-leading EVOL in the region.

“Investment and innovation are at the very core of how we serve our customers across North America,” said Shoji Isoai, President, MHIA Corrugating Machinery Division. “We work closely with them to meet their unrelenting needs for productivity, accuracy, and profitability.”

Long trusted among customers in the EU, the new Mitsubishi Prefeeder delivers faster throughput and front-of-line reliability for MHIA’s flagship EVOL boxmaking equipment, ensuring optimized operations.

The Mitsubishi Prefeeder will unshackle the power of EVOL. MHIA’s research team has ascertained that 50% of equipment downtime is due to ancillary equipment problems, with legacy prefeeders accounting for 38% of that total.

This newest advancement is available for the EVOL 84 and EVOL 100, either 350 bpm or 400 bpm or for any equipment that is a top printer. It runs a continuous shingle of either single-wall or double-wall sheets and boasts a lifting device that reverses the sheet stack. (Minimum sheet size is 8.7 x 24.8 and the maximum sheet size is 48 x 100.)

“Working together, we strive to meet and exceed our customers’ high demands through ongoing investments in technology, customer care, replacement parts, and online and in-person technical support,” said Hiroyuki Kikumoto, Senior Vice President, Sales, MHIA Corrugating Machinery Division.

And customers concur. Among the proud owners of the landmark 200 EVOLs sold in North America, the following were kind enough to share their thoughts.

“EVOL is a great selling tool for us. Everyone wants to see it, and it’s so impressive, and it produces such a precise and clean box—it’s the highlight of the tour,” said Brian Healy, General Manager, Carolina Container.

“Listen, we could have bought any machine we wanted, but there wasn’t any real conversation about it,” said Adam Tominsky, General Manager, Rand-Whitney. “It was EVOL all the way.”

According to Richard Goldberg, VP of Operations for President Container, “It’s quite simple—from the MHIA Sales Team to the VP and all the way through to the tech guys—I have never in my life on the converting side had such a good experience throughout.”

In addition to EVOL equipment and on-site support, the company’s EVOL AR Remote Assistance Augmented Reality Program continues to provide value and evolve to better service customers. Work Instructions were recently added to the industry’s most robust AR platform. Some customers have reported a monumental 50% reduction in downtime with EVOL AR, enabling plant managers, technicians, and engineers across North America to quickly and efficiently share and resolve in real time from their facilities.
